New PRO Saddles bring increased comfort and performance
Introducing the next generation of PRO saddles: the PRO MSN Enduro (left) and MSU E-MTB saddles.
The new PRO Enduro and E-MTB specific saddles, in conjunction with an updated naming convention, will provide cyclists the ability to power their performance comfortably and efficiently.
With a lightweight, and robust appearance, these two new saddles are the first introduction of a new design and overarching naming convention that will make saddle identification easier for cyclists, bike shop owners and dealers.
Using three letter acronyms and two numbers, the PRO saddle naming convention explains each saddle’s intended discipline, length and the body position it facilitates, including the base, rail and padding material being used.
Developed in conjunction with PRO’s MTB Community Riders the PRO MSN 1.3 Enduro Saddle is an MTB specific, short length, saddle designed to facilitate a neutral position on the bike. It features a carbon reinforced base, stainless steel rails and durable PU padding. The PRO MSN 1.3 Enduro Saddle, is as the name suggests, ideal for Enduro and technical trail riding, thanks to the neutral position it encourages and its short length. The neutral position, when compared to PRO’s saddles for aggressive, forward or upright body positions, enables mountain bikers to climb comfortably in a seated position. This is achieved by balancing the pressure distribution across the saddle.
The short length ensures that the PRO MSN 1.3 Enduro Saddle is less likely to hook the rider’s trail shorts while descending.
To further improve functionality, it boasts a rugged construction, with an abrasion resistant PU cover over PU padding. A broad anatomic fit recess further helps reduce pressure on the perineal region; to prevent water damming up inside the recess the saddle also features a drainage port.
The PRO MSU 1.3 E-MTB Saddle is designed for modern long-travel E-Enduro and E-Trail bikes. It facilitates an upright position on the saddle, as the U, in the MSU acronym, suggests, and was thoroughly tested by PRO’s MTB Community Riders.
Like the PRO MSN 1.3 Enduro Saddle it features a short length, a carbon reinforced base, stainless steel rails and an abrasion resistant PU cover over PU padding.
Where it differs however is in the body position it encourages on the bike: because e-MTB riders spend more time delivering power from a seated position and the long travel of E-Enduro bikes, the PRO MSU 1.3 E-MTB Saddle is optimized for an upright body position.
This not only affects the shape of the saddle, but also the location and density of the padding within the saddle. The PRO MSU 1.3 E-MTB Saddle also features a broad anatomic fit recess, with a drainage port to stop water building up in the recess.
