PRO’s Most Affordable Gravel Upgrade

30 July 2021

The new LT Gravel Handlebar delivers comfort and control without breaking the bank

Whether you're hitting the open country road, exploring a forested double-track trail, or simply shaking things up from your regular road routes near home, gravel riding offers a fun new way to experience the world by bike. Gravel delivers new challenges to riders with its mixed surfaces and sometimes unpredictable terrain. And while you don't necessarily need a brand-new gravel-specific bike to take on your favorite off-pavement loops, consider upgrading your current road or cyclocross rig with a gravel handlebar for added comfort and control on bumpy terrain.

Pro’s LT Gravel Handlebar delivers an affordable option for boosting your bike's gravel performance. At just $50, the bar features PRO's signature flared gravel design with smaller drop and shorter reach measurements to ensure balanced control on all road conditions. It also offers PRO's widest range of gravel handlebar widths thanks to the newly available 46-centimeter-wide option. Together, these design features work to deliver a super comfortable bar that’s easy to maneuver when the going gets rough.

As you hit a steep gravel descent or cruise around a loose fire road corner, a little extra stability can go a long way. The PRO LT Gravel handlebar features 10-degrees of flare at the drops, allowing riders to take on a more aggressive but stable upper body position through these tricky sections. Riding with your hands in a wider position offers more leverage so that you can hit those corners with more speed and control.

Compared to road bars, gravel handlebars often have shorter reach and less drop to put the rider’s body in a more upright position than on a road bike. “This allows you to be more stable in the drops and to maintain a neutral shoulder position in the hoods when riding in variable terrain,” said Chris Jacobson, Pro’s North American Brand Manager. “It also protects your shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints.”

The PRO LT Gravel bar is built with 65 mm of reach and 100 mm of drop. The small drop measurement provides riders with more control when switching hand positions between the tops and drops while riding. And while a deeper drop might seem like a nice position for reaching the flared section of your gravel handlebar, this could make it hard to see the road or trail ahead of you when leaning through a corner on an aggressive turn or picking your way through a technical descent.

Finally, for many riders, the wait for an extra-wide gravel handlebar from PRO is over. The new LT Gravel bar offers a wide range of 40, 42, 44, and the new super-wide 46 cm option – PRO’s widest drop bar ever designed. For the rider looking for that extra bit of leverage and control, or for the bikepacker who needs to fit a front bag between the hoods, this new wider bar opens up even more possibilities for functional comfort and control.

Before setting out on your next gravel adventure, consider the small but mighty upgrade that could make a huge difference in keeping you riding longer and with more confidence. PRO's LT Gravel bar delivers premium performance features and design at an accessible price so you can focus on the fun and the gravel challenges ahead.
